In February, Wyndham and Harris had a super trip to the Wessex Water Ashford Education Centre near Bridgwater where they were able to explore some of the real life science of water. They were fascinated to learn about the water treatment process starting with a visit to the reservoir where the water is collected. It was amazing to see, first hand, each stage of treatment and to see how drinking water is created as the end product. After a busy morning and a tasty lunch the group investigated some of the properties of water and were fascinated to make mini magnifiers using water! There was also a fun activity working in teams to inflate a balloon without blowing into it – their science brains had to be fully engaged!
Our thanks to Mrs Halford for organising this inspiring trip and Sue and Emma from Wessex Water for leading the activities on site. A fantastic educational trip to remember.
