Neil Mayfield (Chair)
Neil taught English as a foreign language many years ago and now runs a Financial Services business in Crewkerne. He has been actively involved with the Friends of Chard School for some time and joined the Board of Governors in 2018.
Sylvie Dare FCMI (Vice Chair)
Sylvie is the Vice Chair of the Board of Governors. She spent 10 years working in Finance in Zambia. On her return to the UK she joined a South West Charity helping people start up their own business and also co-owned a care home for 20 years. Sylvie was a Governor of the Park School for many years before joining the Board of Governors at Chard School in 2015. She is the Treasurer for her local church, a Financial Controller for her son’s business and acts as a Business Advisor for the Prince’s Trust. Sylvie was Head of the Finance Committee for the Board of Governors from 2015 to the start of 2021.
Tom Moran
Tom has lived in the Chard area for over 40 years and joined the Board of Governors in 2019. He is a retired Solicitor who had a career initially with a firm in Chard and then went on to work for the Land Registry in Weymouth. Tom has family who have attended Chard School.
Anna Lightfoot
Anna has one child currently at Chard School. She has worked in Publishing and more recently as an English Teacher. Anna is keen to help the future success of the school.
Deborah Perreau
Stewart Hull
Stewart was a boarding pupil at Chard School from 1958 to 1962 and remembers his schooldays with great affection. He went on to have a successful career in the Metropolitan Police in London finishing as a Detective Superintendent investigating serious crimes. He then had a short career as a Financial Adviser and after he retired in 2001 he took up his passion, rock and roll music, and has been entertaining people ever since. He has recently become a Governor at the School as he is Chairman Elect of the Old Cerdics Association which he will take over in June 2024 upon the retirement of the present Chair.
