24th September 2012: Football team wins tournament

Today, the School football team won the Small Schools’ Football Tournament. At the tournament, that was held at Holyrood Academy, the Year 5 & 6 team won all of their of their matches and drew one against local primary schools to be victorious in the competition. Furthermore, they didn’t concede any goals. They will now go through to compete in the forthcoming District Finals.

 

14th September 2012: Teddy Bears’ Picnic

Last week’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic for 2-5 years was a great success, the sun shone and lots of children, parents, staff and teddy bears were in attendance! The picnic, which marked the start of the new term, was rounded off by the children enjoying a teddy bear biscuit.

 

1st July 2012: Key Stage 2 SATs results

Our Key Stage 2 SATs results this year continued the Chard School trend of achieving well above the national average.

We are pleased to announce that in English 100% of children achieved Level 4 and above with 76% of the cohort achieving a Level 5. In Mathematics 54% of the children achieved a Level 5. Congratulations to all of the children and thank you to our hard working staff.

 

18th June 2012: Infants’ Sports Day

Infants’ Sports Day took place recently. There was a variety of events including long jump, Olympic torch relays and obstacle races. The Nursery children also took part in the day; they participated in a water relay and toddlers’ race.

 

1st May 2012: Pupils achieve Guinness World Record

It has been announced that the Face Britain Project to have the world’s largest on-line gallery has been ruled as a Guiness World Record.
