Chard School Educational Nursery is an independent nursery in Chard, Somerset, dedicated to the education of children from the age of 0-5. The Nursery is completely self-contained in the original Regency ballroom of Monmouth House, but has been carefully adapted to meet the requirements of a modern Nursery environment. It has its own covered play area and shares its well-equipped, spacious, enclosed garden, which includes a low level adventure playgroup, with the Reception Class. The Nursery’s modern and spacious conservatory provides a purpose-built area for painting, water play and other activities. A large all-weather astroturf area, complete with climbing and other play activities, is also available to the Nursery to enhance the outdoor play facilities available to the children all year round.
The Nursery is an integral part of Chard School, which provides quality independent education for boys and girls aged 4 to 11 years. Once children at The Lawns turn 4, they have the option in the term following their fourth birthday to move across to Chard School and continue their education in Symes, our Reception class. Early Years Funding is available for children who move into Symes up until their 5th birthday. We offer a very warm welcome to all families, and pride ourselves on developing close partnerships with parents.
