The Prep School led a super Remembrance Service on Thursday with poetry, readings and personal family war memories from our Cerdic classes and hymns and music performed by all. In a wonderfully poignant moment, Upper Cerdic children read out the names of Old Cerdics from our school who lost their lives in the line of duty as we paid tribute to fallen servicemen and women. At 11am we came together as a school in the playground to observe the two minute silence.

Meanwhile our younger pupils took part in a number of activities to mark Remembrance. After learning about the meaning of the day and why we come together to ‘remember’ each year, they enjoyed a carousel of activities. These included making handprint poppy badges, fingerprint wreaths, silhouette suncatchers and the highlight for all the children… making poppy biscuits! Of course the icing was just too good to resist! It was lovely to see our youngest pupils so engaged in these activities and beginning to understand the importance of Remembrance.
