YEAR 6 IN ‘YOUTH SPEAKS’ COMPETITION

YEAR 6 IN ‘YOUTH SPEAKS’ COMPETITION

On Wednesday 25th January the Upper Cerdics and Mrs Graham set out for Swanmead School, Ilminster where, for the first time, Chard School took part in the Rotary Club ‘Youth Speaks’ competition. Our presentation was entitled “Will man live in space in our lifetime”, and Sophie was the Chair, Orlaigh the speaker and Helena proposed the vote of thanks. There were six schools taking part and the standard of speaking was truly amazing. Mrs Graham said “I was very proud of the girls, not just for taking part but also for overcoming illness (in Orlaigh’s case) and for speaking so well in front of a large and unfamiliar audience. I hope that next year Chard will take part with even more success.” Well done girls!
