Super Spring Term

Super Spring Term

The Spring Term has got off to an exciting start with the Friends of Chard School hosting coffee mornings in the school’s dining room for parents to meet each other; our Year 3 Class has been studying badger footprints and a junior pupil has begun work on making his very own boot rack!

A wide range of enjoyable & interesting lessons are taught by our specialist subject teachers including Maths, English, Science, French, Art and ICT.   In our purpose built Science Lab, the Year 6 Class have been measuring forces for different objects as part of their forces topic to learn about gravitational forces.

Our Nursery has had a trip to Chard Library to borrow books and held a ‘Nursery Craft Club’ & ‘Music Makers’, taster sessions for parents and toddlers with ‘Mini Gym’ to follow next week on Tuesday 28th January, 2-3pm. All of our younger children will be visiting Forest School at the Magdalen Centre near Winsham after half term.

The term will continue to be action packed with the netball team taking part in the Independent Schools Association Netball Tournament and a Junior French Theatre visit.  Our Year 6 children have begun work on their charity presentations and our Year 3 Class are rehearsing for their play later on this term.

The Head, Mrs Jane Bruce said “The Spring Term is in full swing here with staff, pupils and parents as enthusiastic and committed to the school as ever. The atmosphere is very positive and the children are thriving academically in our happy & friendly learning environment”.
