Sunny Forest School

Sunny Forest School

All the infants enjoyed a gloriously sunny day at the Magdalen Project when we visited last Thursday. The morning got off to a great start when we all traipsed down to the woods and did some nest building, which tied in perfectly with Horner and Monmouth’s DT topic this term of homes and shelters.

We then learned some great new songs which we sang round the campfire whilst enjoying some hot chocolate and marshmallows. On the way down to the woods, we played colour bingo and matched up natural objects with our colour charts.

This came in handy once we came back out into the sunshine and used the flowers and plants around the garden to make our own picture frames, paint palettes and fabric dyes.

After lunch, we paid a visit to the chickens and ducks who seemed very happy to see us – especially when they saw the food on offer from lots of helping little hands. We are all really looking forward to visiting again after half term.
