Space Ambassador visits Chard School

Space Ambassador visits Chard School

KS1 & 2 Crammed in

Chard School is one of only four schools in the South West signed up to be part of the ESERO-UK (European Space Education Resource Office) Tim Peake Primary Project. The project aims to inspire children in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) learning in the context of space exploration. As part of the project the children were very excited to welcome Jo Richardson, who is an ESERO-UK Space Ambassador, to the school to run a workshop for them in the school Science Lab.

In the workshop the children learned about Tim Peake and his mission and worked together to build their very own International Space Station models using a variety of materials.

Mr Lucas, Head of Science, said ‘We are very proud and excited to be part of this project; the children were fascinated and inspired by the workshop that Jo ran at the school this week. They are now looking forward to the next stages of the ‘Tim Peake’ project!’.
