Remembrance Week

A World War 2 Austin 10 Staff Car visited the school as part of the School’s Remembrance Week. Pupils were able to sit in the car that’s owned by the husband of a Chard School staff member. He has only owned the car for one month; he is in the process of restoring it. During the week pupils also had a talk from Mr Peter Taylor who spent his childhood on Guernsey during the war when it was occupied by the Germans. The week was rounded off by a very moving Remembrance Assembly. Year 6 participated in the assembly and Group Captain Tim Barton, an Old Cerdic, read the Roll of Honour.
