REMEMBRANCE SERVICE

REMEMBRANCE SERVICE

img_8228

On Friday we held a service in the Chapel, to remember servicemen and women killed in conflict. During the service the children read poignant poems and readings and Mr Tim Barton (Old Cerdic) read a roll of honour of all Old Cerdics who fell in the two world wars. At the end of the service Mrs Graham was presented with a plaque by Graham Chamberlain from the Old Cerdics Association, to be displayed in our gym. It acknowledges that the gym was refurbished and brought back to life by voluntary donations and dedicated as a War Memorial on 17th June 1950 to honour those Old Cerdics who died fighting for their country during the Second World War. We are delighted to receive the plaque and recognise the gym’s significance in the rich history of our school. ‘Their names shall live for evermore’.
