Pupils celebrate 800 years of Magna Carta

Lower Cerdic were very excited to be able to view a copy of Magna Carta including a full translation in their history lesson this week. Although the actual document signed by King John at Runnymede was only to benefit the wealthy Barons and was quickly annulled by the Pope, it became the cornerstone of modern democracy forming the basic constitutional law of both Britain and America. The pupils are studying the document to celebrate 800 years of Magna Carta.
