Osmington Bay Residential Trip

The Upper Juniors have just returned from a gloriously sunny and action-packed four days on the Dorset coast. The first day was spent exploring the famous land-marks of Maiden Castle and Durdle Door, discovering the fascinating history and geology of this beautiful area. Then there followed three days and nights at the PGL centre in Osmington Bay, where the children had a non-stop activity schedule from 9am to 9pm brilliantly run by the highly enthusiastic PGL staff. Excellent meals and lively games filled in the remaining time.

The children mastered many new skills, including kayaking, raft-building and abseiling, and overcame many fears and challenges along the way with energy and enthusiasm. The venue was stunning, with clear views to Weymouth and Portland, where the water sports took place. The group benefited from an extended time in close proximity to each other, learning how better to relate and appreciate each other as they faced many experiences together that were well outside their comfort zones. They have returned to school in a state of excitement and pride at their achievements, and with an increased sense of togetherness and mutual appreciation.
