How can I prepare my child for starting Nursery?

Be positive and confident about your child coming to Nursery. Talk about the exciting play activities they will enjoy, and the other children they will see. This is an important time of change for both you and your child, and the staff will help you to feel relaxed and informed.

A Nursery Visit is arranged for your child prior to admission. This will also help you to feel prepared and enable your child to settle in happily.

How do I know what my child has done throughout the day?

You are welcome to talk to the Nursery staff at any time. They will keep records of your child’s progress and share information with you so that we can meet your child’s needs and plan for them more effectively.

How much are your fees, and how do we pay?

We are an independent Nursery facility, offering Early Years Funding for all 3 and 4 years olds. This entitlement commences at the start of the school term after the child’s 3rd birthday.

Fees can be found on our Fees and Funding page. We also provide a Breakfast Club from 8am, and After-School Club to 5.30pm. These are charged at £1 per quarter hour. Fees are payable on or before the first day of each term.

What are your times of opening?

The Nursery is open on weekdays throughout the school term, opening for Breakfast Club at 8am.

Half day sessions are from 9am to 12noon, and from 12noon to 3.30pm. Full day sessions are from 9am to 3.30pm.

What do I need to provide?

Please make sure that your child is dressed in comfortable clothes suitable for messy play and the weather, and also to enable children to manage dressing and the toilet independently, where relevant.

You are welcome to bring a bag packed with nappies or spare clothing. Spare clothing is provided by the Nursery in case of accidents.

Children should wear sun cream, and be provided with a hat during hot weather, and warm coats and wet weather footwear during the colder months.

When does the Nursery close?

The Nursery is open during school term times and closes for the school holidays. Term dates can be found under the main school’s News and Events page.
