Monday 4th – Friday 8th March

A Note from the Friends:

The Second Hand Shop will be open on Monday, 8.50-9.20 am for purchasing and donations.

We are looking for volunteer helpers at the Duck Race on Thurs 23 May – BBQ, teas and cakes, ice creams.  Please send an email to friends@chardshool.co.uk or give your name to one of the Committee members (Lindsay, Fiona D, Fiona R, Ruth, Di or Sue).  Further information about the Duck Race will be sent out at the beginning of the Summer Term but we are delighted that Vikki and Tim have agreed to host the event at Bere Farm again this year.

The teachers have given the Friends an exciting “wish list” for items to purchase with Friends funds.  Once final costs have been approved, we will let you know what your donations are going towards.

We will be holding a Ladies Film Night in May screening Les Miserables.  Sorry Gents but someone has to do the babysitting!  Tickets will be £5.  Please keep an eye out for the sign-up sheet early next term.

Wyndham and Upper Cerdic Parent Consultations:  The lists are now up for these consultations (Wyndham Monday 11th March and Upper Cerdic Thursday 14th March)

Design a Library Card:  Please can these be returned to either the School Office or to your local Library by the end of next week.

World Book Day vouchers:  these will be given to the children next week.

Administering of Medicines:  We have had several requests recently from parents wanting staff to administer medicines that have not been prescribed by a GP.  Please can I remind parents that we are only able to administer medicines dispensed by a pharmacist?  Such medicine must be handed into the School Office where you will be asked to sign a consent form.  If you have further queries and would like to read our Medicines policy, please ask at the School Office.

Music Assemblies:  On Wednesday 6th March, there will be a wind/brass Assembly followed by a piano Assembly on March 13th.  There will be further music Assemblies next term.

Cakes at Break:  in the week leading up to Red Nose Day on the 15th March, we will be holding ‘Cakes at Break’.  On each of the four days prior to Red Nose, cakes sold at break will support one of the Upper Cerdic charities presented before half term.
