Monday 23rd September – Friday 27th September

Message from the Friends:

The sign-up sheet for the Kids Film (Disney Pixar’s Cars) on Saturday 28th September is on the notice board.  The film will start at 2 pm and children should be collected from the Chapel at 4 pm.  Siblings and friends are welcome but please make sure their names are added to the list.

You will have received a letter regarding the trip to the Panto at the end of term.  For those of you who are new to the school, this has always been a very popular event and a great way to end what seems to be an exhausting and long term.  We do need to pay for the tickets in early November so please complete the form and return it to the office before Monday 21 October.  Tickets are £11 per person and you must indicate whether you want to take the coach to Yeovil and return back to Chard.

The Second Hand Shop has been doing a great trade over the last few weeks.  The shop is open on the first Tuesday of every month from 8.40 am to 9 am and our next opening will be Tuesday 1st October.  If you require anything urgently, please contact a member of the Committee.  If you have any spare hangers, please donate them to the shop.

Bags2School is scheduled for collection on Friday 15th November.  This is a big earner for the Friends so please keep all your old clothes and shoes until the bags are delivered via your child at the beginning of November.  Last year we raised £310 in just two collections.

Calling all sewing bees:  If you are interested in helping produce some Christmas decorations for the Fair, please contact friends@chardschool.co.uk.  You should be reasonably proficient with a needle and a pair of scissors!  We are planning on holding a coffee morning to get the wheels in motion so please look out for future notices.

Harvest Festival: Our Harvest Festival will be on Friday 27th September @ 0900.   Produce and tins should be taken to the Chapel on the morning of Harvest Festival.  The produce will be taken to Forefront Community church after the service and shared out as part of the ‘Lord’s Larder’, so anything you donate is shared out amongst the local needy.  You are welcome to attend our Harvest Festival.

Asthma Inhalers:  If you child has an asthma inhaler in School, please let myself or Mrs Bilboe know so that we are kept fully informed.

ESafety Information Evening:  We are looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to the ESafety evening on Thursday evening.  As you will have seen in the press very recently, the protection of our children in the online world is critical and parental knowledge is the one of the keys to keeping them safe.

Consent and Contact Forms/AUPs:  Thank you to those of you who have returned the updated forms.  Please can you let the Office have your forms as soon as possible if you have not yet been able to complete them?

Music contracts:  If you child has a peripatetic music lesson, I would be grateful if you could please sign the Music Contracts as return them to the Office as s0on as possible.
