Carol Singing

The Prep choir has had a busy week singing carols in and around Chard this week. On Wednesday the Cerdics choir were invited to sing carols at the Chard Memory Cafe (run by the Alzheimer’s Society). The audience were delighted to hear a mixture of old and new songs and commented on how beautifully the children sang! Then on Thursday the Prep choir were invited to sing at the Mayor’s Carol Concert at the Guildhall with several other schools in the area. It was a lovely event featuring a range of carols and christmas songs. Well done everyone!

Educational Visit to Bristol

On Thursday 23rd November, the whole school enjoyed an educational trip to Bristol. The Prep School were excited to visit ‘We The Curious’ and the ‘Planetarium’, where they enjoyed the hands on exhibits and 3D presentations. Meanwhile the Pre-Prep children had a super trip aboard the St. Matthew where they scrubbed the decks, rang the ship’s bell and explored the ship’s bunks. In the afternoon they had fun at the aquarium learning about the stingrays, sea turtles and piranhas, despite the power cut the children learnt a great deal which complemented their ‘Under the Ocean’ Topic.

Success at Stockland

Our runners were not deterred by the blustery (and dark!) conditions at the Stockland cross country competition on Wednesday. Congratulations to everyone for showing great determination and a special mention for Josua who finished 10th in the U11 Boys, Robbie who finished 9th in the U9 Boys and Edward who had a fantastic run to finish 2nd in the U9 Boys and take home a medal! Well done everyone!
