Cream Teas and Internet Safety Talk

Cream Teas and Internet Safety Talk

On Friday September 9th, The Friends of Chard School will be hosting an afternoon of Cream Teas on Monmouth Lawn followed by an Internet Safety Talk by speaker Karl Hopwood. Karl is an independent e-safety expert with extensive experience and knowledge who works with children, parents and teachers to develop safer online behaviours and to promote digital literacy.

Karl’s talk will focus on the following areas:

* What children and young people are doing when they go online – as opposed to what they might tell us they are doing when they go online.

* What are the real risks that they face when they use the internet – as opposed to what the press tell us they are up against.

* What parents can do to support their children and how they can help them to stay safe online – a mixture of practical and technical solutions.

You can read Karl’s bio here.

We are very lucky to have Karl joining us and hope to see as many of you as possible for his talk. The Cream Tea will be held at 3.30pm followed by the short talk at 4pm. Afterschool care will be available for all children.
